"I DO"

Everyone has their own perception of marriage.   Here it is 2011, and a lot of people I know are engaged, married, or already have a few kids.    Especially those who don't live in the city.   But, my close friends (particularly girls) are far from marriage.  Most of them are working ladies who simply choose to wait, or don't plan on every getting married.  It's fascinating to me how people's view of marriage all differ.   One thing that really irritates me, is how people ask, "So when's the wedding?", or "What are you waiting for?"  It is up to NO ONE besides you and your partner as to when your wedding will be (if any), where, etc.  Those are incredibly private decisions and outside pressure shouldn't ever influence his/her.  I personally view marriage as that ultimate decision and sacrifice of two lives.  I don't know how people just "settle" or rush into marriage because they feel obligated.   At one time, I wasn't sure if I wanted to be married.  As an independent woman, I couldn't see myself catering to anyone or living with one person for the rest of my life.    But today, the tables turned and I can't wait to become "one" with my partner.    Marriage isn't just about oneself, it's about an everlasting bond.    There is no perfect age-it's when you're ready that matters.  Fate will determine, and nothing else~
