I must say, I'm so intrigued by all of these interesting meet up groups. With a city so full of artistic and creative people, a simple down-to-earth method of having people get together to discuss that same interest just works. I have yet to find another city that is so immersed with diversity and intelligent individuals. As a writer/poet, it's a necessity to feed off other people's suggestions and ideas. Such a historical magical place, how can one not want to get a taste :) It's appealing in SO many ways. I always love asking people who aren't from NY what their motive was for moving here. It just fascinates me at the sacrifices people make to live here. I've been a native New Yorker my entire life, so befriending those with various backgrounds opens such a diverse world to me. I advise anyone to become part of a meet up/gathering. It's part of our nature to desire success---even if it involves a hobby. Let's face it, we all love an audience. ESPECIALLY when it comes to artistic expression. I intend to find more of these groups and you should to--get out there and SHINE~L
